Beer mat and coasters, commonly referred to as cup/beer holder, are widely used in pubs, cafes, and bars. From the German Beerdekel it translates as “beer lid” because as before, these cardboard products were used to cover mugs with beer so that dust, debris, and small midges did not get into them. Now their purpose has changed a little, and coasters began to be placed not on glasses, but under them, thus, tables and racks from drops and wet traces. In addition, a beer mat with a logo is an excellent souvenir product that promotes brand awareness and creates a holistic style for the establishment.

How the beermat differs from the coaster

The main difference between the two is that beer mats absorb moisture because of cardboard is used to make them, but logo coasters do not. For their manufacture, a more durable material is used, for example, wood, plastic, laminated cardboard. Thanks to this, the coasters can be exposed to the surface and from the temperature drop, in contrast to coasters, which are intended mainly for beer.
