A poster is a type of large-format printed product that has a decorative character. The most important task of posters is to attract attention, so they are often made bright, creative and interesting. The standard size of the poster is A2, but you can also often find the A3 format or large-format versions of A1 or A0. The main material for the production of posters can be paper of various densities with a glossy or matte finish, canvas, designer cardboard, photo paper, self-adhesive film and other materials.
The most important difference between a placard and a poster is the decoration and the mounting system. Placards require an additional mounting structure, while a self-adhesive poster does not need it. In addition, the design of advertising placards is clearly inferior to posters.
